Do you mean horses?
It really depends on the horse itself. What it is capable of and how much talent it has, whether it is bold, scopey and enthusiastic.

I think that 5'3 is a great height to be jumping considering I really struggle over 3'10.

There is a pony now retired in NewZealand who cleared 1.90m. Please any fellow Kiwis correct me if I am wrong, if you know the pony I am thinking about (Skylight......absolutely amazingly stunning pony)

It completely depends on the individual horse, not the height. Just because a horse is 17h, doesn't mean that they can clear 5'3". I know some 18.1h warmbloods who can't get out of their own way over 3'6".
Then again, there was that 14.1h pony, Critter, who represented Great Britain in show jumping many decades ago....jumping 5'3" fences.
It all depends on each individual horse's talent, fitness, and mindset.

Yer Marion coakes's pony called Stroller. Cracking pony, wasn't much to look up but had a heart of gold!
I've seen 14.3s going round Badminton and boy was that a sight!

Hey,
LOL That would be cute seeing a little pony doing a 5' jump lol. :D
So i guess it all just depends on the horses heart lol... The pony i used to ride liek 24/7 lol... well he was 13.2hh but he could outjump any horse in that barn lol.;)

Yep Skylight had the record of 1.9M. He was amazing- So cute and retired this year! (At 21 he stopped doing grand prix!). Ponies rock, Lenny did 1.2M at 15 or so which I think is amazing! I think Skylight is 14.1/14.2.

depends on the horse, not the height of it. there was a connemara pony who cleared a 7'2" fence at a puissance competition.

Most eventers are in the 16hh-16.3hh range, mainly because any bigger and the distance between feet and brain gets too large!! This year there was 2 15.3hh's and one 15.2hh at Badminton, but you don't usually see the top horses that small. However, Kally is only just 15.2hh and I'm sure that she could manage it (she jumps 4ft6 with her eyes shut..that's the biggest fence you'll see at Badders). You just wouldnt see me on board doing it!!
