Grassman

There was a time when only tetraploid and hybrid ryegrasses were high in sugars.
NOT ANY MORE.
I have seen stats on new diploid varieties coming on to the market that are matching the top values of the high sugar tetraploids and hybrids used for silage making.
These new, high sugar diploids are primarily grazing grasses, so be very careful when purchasing new horse pasture leys or overseeding grass mixtures that they contain suitable species AND varieties.
