Had a useful trip down to Fry's dressage on Saturday. Tavia was quite inattentive in her first class and then settled to finish 5th in the Elementary freestyle with me. She did a nice test for Claire in the Elementary qualifier, although she was out of the top placings.

Peri showed a big improvement on her first outing since she put her back out. She finished a frustrating 3rd in the Medium Freestyle with just under 66% (top two qualify for the finals) and was only beaten by 1 mark :( We were 3rd in the Medium qualifier but marks were not so good (57%), felt she did a better test than shown by the marks. Went quite well in the Advanced Medium finishing 2nd with 60%, although we both made a couple of annoying little mistakes that cost a few marks and probably first place. What really pleased me is that it was the same test and the same judge as we had at the Festival and there was a big improvement in the marks. She aso commented that she looked much looser and more relaxed when I spoke to her afterwards.

Next outing is New Moors on the 29th, which will be our first Advanced class since June, fingers crossed !

New Moors is very close to me, unfortunately I'm holidaying on the 29th, otherwise I'd come and watch - do you go there often?

Good luck anyway,

Lesley

Yes Dizzy, New Moors is just about our nearest competition centre, it is also the home of one of my trainers (her Mum bred my younger mare) and most of the BD trainings are held there so we are over there fairly frequently. I will be there again for a competition in October.

What date? If I can, I'd love to come and watch.

It's a 2 day competition, although we will only be competing on the Saturday (no classes for me on the Sunday). If I remember rightly it is the 19th and 20th of October, although I won't get my times until 17th October.

POst-script - didn't get to the competition - Bl**dy horsebox battery was flat and so was the spare. Seems to be earthing through a fault on the starter motor -more repair bills GRR!
