Hi - yes we did have a meet in November - those of us who rode had an "interesting" experience including being bogged down in the wettest, muddiest manège imaginable while we had girths & tack that didn't fit sorted out and 3 of the 6 horses misbehaving - we won't be going back there!!
This is one of the places we thought might be nice - http://www.tiptree-equestrian.co.uk/hacking.htm -
let's hope the weather improves soon!

I'd love to meet a few more local people, as bad as the last meet was we had quite a laugh afterwards at the owners expense I think :D
I had looked at that place for livery CWB seems a nice place, wonder if they'd let you bring your own horses too

I'm poor too, maybe have to do something cheap and then save up or........seeing as so many now have their own ponies maybe they should bring their own somewhere nice

I used to live in Maldon :D However, from North Yorkshire it's a bit far to travel for a meet up :(

Shandy that sounds goood :D although i lack transport :p
I think im just dificult
cwb
28th Mar 2008, 03:51 PM
Well I have transport for 2 horses but no idea whether Scully will load!! I have also got to do some modifications - at the moment it carries 2 sideways but I have to turn it round so it is long enough for the Scullywag! Does Candy load into a lorry OK?
How about a horseless meet up at Ingatestone Saddlery - they have a cafe there and if your really broke then you can just "window shop" and write your Christmas/Birthday pressie wish list!!:D
Laceyfreckle is going to organise something round her way once the lump has arrived on the scene!

Horseless meet would be good for me at the moment as i can't ride until the bump lands. Ingatestone Saddlery would eb a good idea...although i have never been there! I could get to chelmsford but haven't got transport though.....i'm quite skint at the moment too, maybe choose a time they have a sale on!!:p

Depending on date, I may be able to come, as my dad lives nr Romford and so can get to most places! :D
Saying that though, am in Essex now, but going back to Chester on Monday after a fleeting visit to Hull, so wouldn't be able to go to one until end of June :(

I live 5 mins from Ingatestone Saddlery and was there yesterday with my 4 month old boy - thought I'd start him young, he was quite interested in looking around. I love going there but its deadly being so close to me, the cafe is good too.

I think we might have to have a practice - and introduce Candy to Scully - we don't want squabbling kids in the back do we? :p;);):D

28th Mar 2008, 10:02 PM
ingatestone would be good - i can be a brat aswell and get mum to buy me loads
or... if you want we could (if i asked) go to my trainers yard (opposite dengie horse feeds) and they have good hacking, or Susan White Saddlery (really friendly with her) and see if we can hack about there.
Or, if there is not many of us, like about 15-20 ish we could just do a non-horse meet at mine or someone elses, like i wil have to speek to mum though but I will see.
ETA there is a problem about the Tiptree one; im probably going to spoil it but im only 13 :( but i can look older :)
Im 14 in october though, but thats too late. I may be able to kind of put loads make up on e.t.c
im tall enough really at 5foot 7 :) sorry

Ingatestone sounds great I haven't been there for ages.
If we are having a ridden meet I now have transport so could take one other (I am in Bishops Stortford) I will have to change my bit though as my horse has the mind of a racehorse and the body of a fat cob when in company!!

I'd like to go! I can do weekends and seeing as half my horse equipment has been stolen "permanently borrowed" a trip to ingatestone will be necessary.

I always need new bits for Scully - on the age side I am ancient and the only boy! Weekends work well for me, but Saturday afternoons I take my granddaughter riding.
PS I rarely behave myself - trotting when not supposed to, you know... :D

I've never, ever been to Ingatestone Saddlery. I must be the only Essex rider/horse owner never to have been there.
I'll try to come depending on the date, but I think that whatever date you choose, there's always going to be some people that cannot make it.
