I have a Prolite adjustible front riser. It came with pockets to fit a thick or a thin pad (included a pair of each), and cost about £65 a few years ago.

I love it and will never get rid of it. It is great for cusioning rollers or a saddle that is awaiting reflocking, and can be used to help compensate muscle tone when fittening up. It doesn't seem to slip either.

It's only ever been used as a temporary measure though and not a replacement for a well fitting saddle (but I'm sure you know that ;)).

It would probably suit your needs then, because you can change the pads, use both, or none, as he develops :)

btw I think I got it from Horse and Rider in Sheffield, they do mail order too.

I've a prolite - i just checked their website so it appears i've the 'adjustable front riser' (never knew thats what it was) :D

Saddle fitter sold it to me for same reasons you cite - horse changing shape as muscle builds. My one really pads out the sides nicely.

Didn't realise they also came built in to the numnah - I likesies ;)

I too have the adjustable prolite front riser. Have just changed the insert to the thinner one as my boy is now building muscle.

Bought it from Robinsons catalogue.

I have one too but not the adjustable one. It has worn really well, never slips.
Not using now have good saddle! But well worth the money.

I bought the Wintec one for my mare, works a treat! She gets really fat in the summer so the sadlle fits her perfectly but in the winter she dropped a bit so needed to make the front a bit narrower, I think its the £20 one but it only comes in white(mine is now a shade of grey/brown :D )

I've got one of these:

It can be a rear riser too - there are pockets at the front, back & in the middle of the pad, & you can put shims in some or all of them. I'm really pleased with it :)
