Toothpaste on bits??

Hi there,

I've seen a few post where people who's horses aren't keen to accept the bit put toothpaste on it.

Is it any old toothpaste, or a particular kind? And how much do you use?

I just use it to clean my bits. I use a good squeeze of toothpaste and an old toothbush and scrub away! I don't think it matters what brand you use, but we usually have mint flavored lying around at home and so far my horses haven't complained :)

I used it very successfully, didn't worry about brands, just whatever minty one we had in the house. Molasses works well too but is far far messier :D
