Can anyone suggest any good suppling exersizes for my horse.
She is improoving all the time in her work, but i feel she could still be a bit more free in her way of going and looser.

I free school now and again.
I also lunge regularly. (Twice a week)
I also do lots of carrot stretches on the ground with her.
When ridden we do lots of flexing work too.

What type of exersize do you think would benefit her the most?

We are doing a dressage test in 4 weeks and I would like her to be a bit more supple than what she is at the moment

wile riding do serpinties and circles change rain regualy and do lot and lot of transitions. I also find doing circles with an outside bend helps or even changing the bend anlong a straight line.

Another thing I do to some of my horses it tie an elastic bandage around there bum from the saddle this helps them learn to use there hidquarters.

You could try lateral work, e.g. leg yields and maybe a bit of shoulder-in, to vary the work and also help bending and suppling.

But it sounds like you are doing pretty much all you can so it is just a matter of time really.

Yes, as tasha said lateral work is very good for suppling. I'm doing pretty much the same with my horse at the moment as we want to go in to dressage and I fing the leg yield, shoulder in etc really help.

Good Luck,

Lisa.

Good suppling exercises are: circles and decreasing them, shoulder-in, leg yielding, turn on the forehand, serpentines, shallow loops eg 5 metres in from long side.
