Have noticed that Taya is not just losing her winter coat in the normal way!

Partiuarly under the saddle area, she has small clumps of hair coming out when I groom, with a flaky bit of skin attached.

On closer inspection her skin is really flaky, with the level worse under the saddle.

Spoke to vets today and YO, Fandango and daughter and we all agreed it was just that time of year, when the winter coat is coming out and she's getting sweaty under the numnah in particular.

So I gave her a lovely bath (think she liked it!) with Tea Tree shampoo and massaged.

Can anyone recommend anything else to help inprove her skin?

Thx

Carr Day and Martin do a brilliant shampoo

its called gallop medicated shampoo. it's great for dry, flaky, itchy, scurffy and sensitive skin

It should cost you about £9.00 a bottle which should last about 10 washes

leaves a lovely soft shiney coat too

Her evil twin is exactly the same! I am hoping thats what is causing the rub with the Freeform. I am waiting for the other numnah to arrive before I use it again.

He is really mangy looking just now and his coat is almost crispy feeling:(. Up his neck is all nice new coat and its lovely but round his body is grotty.

I would bath but its a bit cold here for it yet:)

Get one of these wee nylon mesh "puff" thingys (on a bit of rope - you used to get them free with dove bodywash) and use that when you wash her. It will help lift all the grotty bits.

You cant go far wrong with tea trea:)

give her a hug from her auntie K and her equally grotty little cousin A xxx
