I am wanting to purchase some clippers to clip my mares feathers but not sure which ones to go for. What brand/make/model would you recommend? :)

I have the Heiniger Handy clippers and they are great for everything from full clips to hogging manes. I shouldn't bother with any that are classed as trimmers if you have alot of feather to cope with as they wont be man enough to do a good job. I also have a pair of the cordless Avalon clippers by Wahl, which I bought to clip a nervous horse with but they aren't anywhere near as powerful as the Heiniger, definately not up to clipping a very hairy beastie..::rolleyes:.

I use my lister clippers for everything BUT alex hates it cos of his mud fever. I now also have the avlon battery clippers, he stands still and is not fased..better than my previous bust lip! Brilliant for hard to reach areas and the face, although i use the listers for his body

I have the Avalon Cordless clippers too for Captain's feathers. He never used to stand still for clipping so the cordless option make it easier than dragging the clippers and extension lead around everytime Captain tried to dodge me.

Does he still move Nic? Alex doesnt even realise they are on i dont think, he now just stands and eats whereas before he wouldnt eat and would barge around!

Moesler (not sure if I have spelt it correctly!), seem to manage Max's feathers ok :D They are cordless and quiet and come with a battery pack that you can wear around your waist whilst clipping.

I use the Liveryman element rechargeable, they are really quiet and youcan get replcement blades, I can use them for an hour no problems, probably change blades every 8 months, they have 4 lenght attachments too.
