Now the cart is up and running again took my daughter driving in the arena the other day. The following day iz and I tacked rhi up and have not converted Rhi's young rider into driving. Iz set up some obstacles that I took rhi in and out of (new cart, better shafts and rhi can now turn much better) then claire drove her through. Iz took over set up some cones and yep they all had a wail of a time.

Waiting now for the book on Tandem driving so we can put Rhi and Peter into tandem :D

Sounds super.. more converts lol !!!!

Tandem driving is brilliant and very challenging! I used to do Pony Tandem at the Nationals ( BHDTA) with a pair of Welshes

Thrilling!!!!! :D

I really couldnt see my current horse Kai being tandem leader, nor the 'engine' for that matter! pottering as a single will just have to do :p

gonna be unconventional as the 15.2 is more sensible than the 14.1 so its 15.2 in the front and the 14.1 at the back for the time being. Although the 15.2 is less experienced at driving he is the more sensible one

STOPPIT you lot, you are tempting me 'orrible here.

A thought stuck me last night re tandem. If I go to the RHS this year and enter the multiples and the Shetland driven class, I could do it without taking the lorry AND trailer this saving myself a lot of money on the boat......I could take the lorry only witht the 2 wheeler in it, and show Charles Buttons esq in singles Shetland, and then whang Andy in the wheel and show them tandem in another class!

How about that for a thought........I have to make up my mind as I have a lot of harness to make!

Of course, a woman of your calibre :D And its not like you need to drive hazards with them, so long as you can go straight and look pretty you'll be fine! Get some miles under their belts in tandem (along with the million other things you no doubt have to do between now and the RH...not least a tandem harness of course...!) and it'll be fine, they're good boys and you know what you are doing you just need to polish it to RH standard.

(Says me, who isn't the one having to do all that :D )

It the other poor beggars in the ring who will be avoiding the hazard - US! :D :D

To be fair, I took Charles Buttons Esq out on singles the other day. Frances, on the way to putting to, asked me if I thought it was a good Idea as The Button was on his toes! to say the least. Charles has never been a novice drive, very forward going and bouncy.

Well, a year doing the show circuit has made him grow up so much in his little head. He did the most unusual thing for Charlie.....he walked nicely. Generally we have to g everywhere at a flat trot or tölt. He was calm and listening and a different pony.

Good boy Charlie, I found my pair grew up a lot after a season on the circuit too, amazing what it does to their heads.

His first ever singles dressage test was a disaster, IN pairs he's done really well, in singles he screamed his way around the test. Cantering whenever lengthening was required, and generally having a paddy at X for the 10 scond halt. 10 second tantrum more like!

So you mean Andy Pants is a GOOD influence on him  :p (sorry boys, I know you are good really!).

Only because had to go out and buy another. My YO has never offered to even get my old one fixed after he ran it over.

At least it now means I have one cart between the two :D
