Hi, Im taking my dales X pony to a m&m local in hand show, he will be in the youngstock as he is rising 3. He has a new show bridle and I have a plain jointed snaffle but he is long reined in a liverpool driving bit, he isnt very good in a jointed bit when leading he just pulls through it and trys to eat grass. Ive found a "stallion" bit the one with the horse shoes on it and it has the same mouth piece as his liverpool, he leads brilliantly in this and he looks good in it. Would I be ok to use this bit in the youngstock class or is it supposed to be just for stallions?
Thanks
Nic

no, it's just for stallions. you can use a straightbar bit - it may be that he doesn;t like the jointed mouthpiece, so have a look for one like this, which is what most youngstock are shown in.
