Just found a lovely riding hat and I want, I want!
It's dark brown and would go so well with my lighter brown tweed jacket & brown tack ...
BUT.
I have black long boots.
So would a black hat look more complete? Or should I start saving up for brown boots?

you always wear black boots unless you are lynn russell - don't take them into account when thinking of matching. brown hat sounds lovely!

The OH tends to show in brown hat & black boots or sometimes the leather half chaps that fit into little pockty bits on her jod boots (forgive my ignorance of the right terms - I just pay for them!!). She's actaully got a few hats, blue, black, brown & green but to be honest you'd struggle to tell them apart they are that faded!! At the Northern Spring Show she went for the black boots Piccy (http://www.theimagefile.com/?skin=3825&Action=VF&id=464090640&ppwd=md6915mt)

I have a brown hat and black boots (mind you I don't go to shows - only pootle about!!). How come brown boots for showing aren't popular? I've seen some gorgeous Regent ones in the Rideaway catalogue - are they show acceptable?

dont know really, i personally prefer black ones (boots) and a navy hat (not black, brown or green)
but im more traditionalist sure someone will prefer the others and will look very nice but i dont think i could 'work it'
