Right folks,

I would love to showmy mare in-hand this year, but I am also looking to compete in dressage and showjumping. My dilemma.......to clip her feathers or not too!!!

She looks nice with them on, but even better without. Especially when putting protective boots on, because with feathers it makes her feet look like they are hairy ugg boot! haha :D

Will I still be able to show her even without feathers? As I wll not be able to go in traditional classes, although, I am not sure if she would be classed as 'proper' traditional. I beleive there are general coloured classes right?

Yuor thoughts would be great! :D AS i also need to think about my own turnout. ahh

Is she hogged?

For showing you really need to either go for lots of mane, tail and feathers, or for hogged and trimmed or for plaited and trimmed. You can't really mix and match.

i think you can compete in inhand cob classes, so hog her, chop her feathers and have fun :D

you cant mix and match and putting boots on for sj over feather looks ridiculous IMO
