I haven't got any photos, but I have tidied the top of my mare's tail with a Smart Tails thinning rake. She is Welsh x TB but has quite a thick tail. I didn't want to go for a heavily pulled look, so I just raked the top of her tail in to shape, cut the bottom square, and I will bandage on the morning of the show to make it look neat.

Good luck! :D

Hi there. :D This is a link to the website where I bought my Smart Tails rake.

My mare won't tolerate either her mane or tail being pulled. I've had better results with the rake on her tail, but that is because her mane tends to stick up!

Her tail is really good though. I found it best to keep doing a little bit every few days, so you can see the shape properly. And then keep it tidied up once a week.

I used it with huge success on my friend's gelding to thin his mane out before pulling it to a good length.
