my girl has an awful kick - flap of skin with a hole underneath:eek::eek:

she wont let the vet or me near it. she also has cellulitis in that leg

i think there is some proud flash starting to develop - is there anything i can 'try':o to put on it to reduce this???:)

I had some once after a bad injury - the doctor got me to get a tube of something from the pharmacy. Ask at one of the local ones, I think it was without prescription, but if you need one, the vet can write it for you.

So sorry to hear of her accident. Your horses always pull through though so she'll be fine :).

Just had a quick peek on the internet - it was called Silver Nitrate and comes in stick form.

There's a cream called terracortril, used to treat over-granulation (aka 'proudflesh') tissue in burns patients. Not sure if you can buy over the counter, worth asking.
Honey is also reputed to help via an osmotic effect on the affected tissue (in otherwords it helps to reduce the puffy swelling )
