Evening All!

I have been bombarding everybody with posts recently about my mare, but I am soooooo excited for the show on Sunday I can't help it!!
I have brought her in tonight and given her a good brushing and shes had her mane washed and plaited over to the off side because it won't stay over on its own!
She will be in until Sunday now so that she stays clean and will reduce the amount of bathing I have to do!

I just need some good old fashioned NR last minute tips to make sure that all goes well for me on Sunday :) For both the preparation and in the ring!!!

Please let me know of any advice you can give, here are some piccys of my girl looking good :)

I'd chuck her out in a fly rug at most and let her enjoy the weather to be honest, not a fan of keeping in for days before a show.

Don't have one! And I don't know anybody that has! I did think of that one myself, and I don't really want to keep her in, but its not an option for me sadly :(

When I attempted showing last year the judge gave me quite a good tip. When you have taken tack off and judge comes over to give close up inspection she had a wrapper which she rattled in front of his eyes. It wakes them up - if they are dozing in summer heat and makes them look alert and sparkley eyed. Obviously to be followed up with a treat :) Good luck.

The only problem i have found with keepig my section b in for a cople days bwfore a show, is he goes a bit bonkers when hegets there- have you got an unmuddy part you can trust her in? Or bit lunging and stuff everyday.
shes lovely.

I don't think it's fair to keep a horse in for 4 days to keep them clean if they're used to being out, sorry :o

If I were you I'd give her at least a few hours out each day, and spot wash the day before or morning of the show, plus a good groom. You'll regret it if she's completely loopy and unable to perform for being in for so long.

I agree Glider. Its only one show, its not worth upsetting your horses routine and keeping them in when there is such glorious weather and good grass for them to enjoy being a horse - which is what they are ultimately!

I know someone who keeps their show cob in 24/7 otherwise 'it gets dirty' when it goes out - she doesnt seem to understand she could clean the dirt off!

Will be going to Rochdale and District :)

I appreciate the concern but she will be fine, I am not cruel to my horse in any way and if I thought my actions would upset her I wouldn't be doing it.
