Bl**dy hoss.

Daffy now needs a wider saddle than the XX wide one he currently has. Its a Native Pony Saddle Company one, as with all "adjustable" saddles, the front can be made wider but the rest relies on a reflock.

RI has lent me a Balance saddle, but Daffy didn't seem keen when I popped it on him on Friday. Not had time to do a thorough "why", as it may just have been flies in his stable or something. But if he really doesn't like it, I am considering having the NPSC one altered as an interim measure, the intention is to go £1200 worth of treeless as soon as I can afford it, which is probably going to be the end of summer unless I'm really desperate. I'm loathe to bring him out of ridden work for various reasons, although if I cannot find a suitable saddle then I will of course get nice and fit longreining around the valley.

He does have muscle wastage behind his shoulders, not vast amounts, but what will be the impact of having the saddle altered in that way? ie the width changed at the front but not necessarily at the back?
