What are these bald patches on her face?

Over the past week I have noticed my mare has a few bald patches on her face, they aren't bleeding or sore as such but you can see the black skin underneath where she has been rubbing.
Just wondered what could have caused this and what should I do?

I have put a bit of savlon on them tonight!

Joy had bald patched about 3 or 4 weeks back.

I kept a very close eye on it and it has since sorted itself out but it was where she was shedding and run=bbing her face.

It wasn't scaley or sore, just bald :)

Sounds like what Ronnie has got! I looked closely yesterday and there is some hair regrowth :)

Could be a form of rain scald. I had a mare who had it a few years ago on her face, a short dose of sulphur (homeopathic) cleared it up in no time.
