would this be correct for a welsh D? found a rather nice havannah inhand bridle, but it's got a gold clencher browband. I was going to use our new white halter but mum doesn't think it looks safe  here's the bridle in question....

yes, it's fine - and you can always take the clencher off and put a plain one on if you like it better. it used to be that clenchers were only for stallions, but these days they are a lot more widely seen. what we do before a show is get a number of bridles together with clenchers, plains, bits, no bits, rosettes and no rosettes, and have a big trying on session and then make up a bridle that suits best.

ah, phew! might just buy that bridle then. Got a nice show halter last week but mum is worried if kezzie gets a bit hyper he might slip out of it

You can get some lovely brass rosettes on ebay with the Welsh Dragon on too. I really like those, and the clencher browbands, I think they look very smart on the right ponies.
I must admit I'm taking Daffy's double bridle to our show at the end of the month, just incase he too has ideas about control in his halter! ;)
