indigo century large :( I have been depressed lately because I am stuck in school and not riding anymore. I just can't wait untill I am done college and make enough money to buy my own horse. It is so depressing when you are out of the saddle, because you enjoy riding so much. What can I do to bide the time when I am out of the saddle. I go to shows and that just depresses me even more.

It's tough to sacrifice the riding, I feel for you. I do find reading books and magazines helps when I can't get the riding in that I'd like, but it doesn't replace being around the horses. Have you considered the possibility of looking around for volunteer opportunities in a therapeutic riding program? It could be personally satisfying, bring you around horses, and be a nice addition to your CV or resume.

volenteering at you riding stable or local yard isnt on your pole so i would suggest that and also reading books and magazines on horse riding although not too many or it will get you even more depressed !!

I talk to ponies directly if i don't get to ride like when my pony is out at grass (he goes out 5 miles from me). there are ponies up my road so I chat to them.
