My horse was a rescue and hence past injuries are unknown.
He was weak and skinny, but worked gradually into a sleek shiney horse going sound, that was year 1.

This year started with colic, tons of time off for mud/rain, a respiratory virus that went around the barn, just starting work again now.

During the virus, I noticed when he moved there was a LOT of joint crackling around the neck and shoulders. Now that he's started work again, with some front trim angle adjustments and chiro for his hip, I'm noticing a LOT of crackling again. I thought maybe he was just a little stiff/adjusting. But tonight it was all the way down a front leg. I'm definitely finding little hard muscle spasms through the shoulders and neck, which I am massaging as I find them.

He is about 12 and did not crackle like this during year 1. What should I think?

Try a joint supplement, alot of people have different opinions on different ones, but theres alot on the market to try. And remember if you trial and error them, it will take a month-2 month for the effects to kick in :)

That's a good point, I may try changing/upping his supplement.

I wonder if there is a connection with illness/virus/dehyradtion? I expect some stiffness as he comes back to work and adjusts to ... adjustments that have been made. But a little alarmed at the sudden onset
