Just a quick question, might be a stupid one but was just wondering if all horses have wolf teeth? and if not do they always interfere with the bit? or need to be taken out?

I believe it is most common in geldings but some mares can get them as well. A lot never get them, same as wisdom teeth in humans, not everyone gets them.

I bought my pony at 4yrs old and had the vet in the first month to check him out and start him on jabs, as he had been feral before that. He sedated him and took out only one wolf tooth, the other one wasnt there and has never arrived he is 10 now.

I didnt think it was intefering with the bit, but he was only just backed, so not sure if there was any difference before or after, but have heard of others that say behaviour when ridden was better after removal. Maybe some more posts will answer that part for you.

My pony has a wolf tooth, vet had a look at it and asked if I thought t a problem, I said it didn't seem to so he said there was no need to do anything. I keep an eye on him, but he isn't ridden much.
