Its itching her and literally everywhere, mainly legs, tail and the mane/wither area. Is there anything I can wash it with or put on it to clear the scurf?? She had a bath in tea tree shampoo not too long back but it doesn't seem to have helped. Could you use hibiscrub all over? Or a special medicated horse shampoo, normal human medicated/dandruff shampoo??

She doesn't seem to be losing her winter coat either

My horse suffers from sweetitch and can get really scurfy. My vet advised to bathe her using diluted hibiscrub and it certainly works for her, though I don't think I'd use it too often, only when it gets really bad.

There is a dermoline shampoo i think its with tea tree thats really good to get the scurf off. A good bath helps get the coat out, as does a shedding blade. Mine holds his coat for ages i use this rubber round think with prongs on (i dnt know the name!) not a curry comb anyway and it lifts it off. They all look manky when losing their coats

Even with the shedding blade she only has a few hairs come out where as Nelson and Sietske are spitting them out by the truck load!! Might give her a good bath in hibiscrub to get rid of the scurf...she isn't a fan of the hose so could be challenge but life would be boring without a challenge!! :p
