Tried Forest in his new bit today.
I only had the rein on the snaffle ring to see how he reacted. I tacked him up and allowed him to get a feel of the bit and squeezed on each rein so he knew the feel of the bit when the rein was squeezed and he was fine. So I got on. At first he troted off and when asked to stop through a tantrum but after a couple of strides trying to fight the bit he listened.
I tried some jumping and he was ok but could be better. Generally he stopped when he was asked but it may help to have it down a ring for shows just in case.
However, the bit really seemed to work and I felt more in control with it in and I think Forest is happier with the different mouth piece.
Hopefully when he is more used to the bit it will come in to action better.
Just really pleased with him and that I have found a mouth piece that he likes!:D
