(i've had a few like that too - i just assume no one has much to say about said topic)

Just to be annoying and reply :p
Don't worry, I hardly ever get replies too, s'just people follow certain very well known members stories/threads avidly I guess, or have nothing in particular to say. If I see a thread with no replies, I try to answer, even if it's just 'omg, like, totally cute pony babes'
:p No, I don't speak like that really

do we think people want more updates or journal like threads ? what do they want from meeeee ?????
i tend to read threads from people with updates if horse was injured etc...
and threads that are relevent to the work i am doing with the horse/problems i have encountered before for more opinions....
and ones with pics!
but i don't often reply if i do not think that i have anything constructive to add... i just lurk and read...
i reply more to wish luck/send vibes/say well done etc etc or comment on a gorgeous horse...
in terms of posting - i post if there's a particular prob i want suggestions on...
or updates on the horse as i know madlady likes to keep updated on her progress (it's a friesian thing!)
but i don't often get loads of replys - but enough to answer queries usually
does that help at all?! prob not - have a feeling that was a rosie special stream-of-conciousness moment that makes diddly squat sense

What are your titles like? Sometimes people are put off if the titles are unspecific or too specific and they don't think it is anything they can give advice on. Sometimes it just happens - I was offline for ages and I went from everyone answering my posts and being a very regular NR person to no-one knowing who I am any more so a lot of people don't answer mine any more either...you just have to keep at it and eventually you will get known and get loads of replies! :D

I've felt like that too, my posts have been read but not responded too:o, but if you go back to them a few days later generally there are more responses.
You just have to try and not feel like a billy no mates in the meantime. I'll respond to yours if you respond to mine:D

I wouldnt worry about it. I can usually stop a thread dead in its tracks just by replying. Im not joking, just check if you dont believe me. Seriously though pics will get me looking every time and I know I shouldnt but I do like the arguments [not that I join in any of them] but there fun to read. Good luck with the bladder problem. haha.

Well, I always try to reply to posts if it's something I know something about, or if I think I can help with a problem.
I think some threads get passed over because of the volume of postings sometimes so unless you log on and look at all of them, some don't get looked at enough.

Chickyd - you need to be more controversial, or failing that post pictures of poo. :p
I tend to reply to threads that are relevant to me, either something i'm doing or having problems with or something that I've done or had problems with before and can possibly offer advice to anyone else. And I like pics of ppl doing XC!!!
And someone else has posted about having an interesting name of thread...as in relevant. I scan quickly for something interesting!!

I've never thought "gosh, that girl's threads are sooo boring" when you've posted. But I don't often log in and reply - I have days where I post left, right and center and then weeks during which I just read.
As you have a GORGEOUS horse, obviously you could easily get more people to LOOK if you posted more pictures... if you do that, let me know, maybe I'll change jobs and go into the business of selling keyboards, cause lots of Jasper pics is bound to mean lots of drooling and keyboards are going to need replacing :p
But even with hundreds of Jasper pics I'm still going to just drool (and be jealous) and not necessarily reply.. tooo busy drooling.
And then nobody else's posts will even get looked at. You'd cause lots of other people to feel unloved and unwanted ;)

After all this you still cant do us the courtesy of actually POSTING a piccie of Jasper in this thread:).
I never get very many replies BUT usually the folks that do reply (thankyou Sancho:D) have something fairly relevant to say so it answers my questions fairly quickly.
I'm another one who worries about threads with no replies - or newbies - and I like to try and say something, but I am starting to toughen up and only reply if I have something to say (still butt in and post piccies on anyones thread with the least wee bit of encouragement though:o).

Start a controversy in order to get more answers. :D
Something like - my horse is too fat so I have him in the sandschool with nothing to eat until he gets to be the right size again - should do the trick ;)

In which case if this was a mega old thread and since then you posted on something controversial and got lots of replies it worked! :p
I know what you mean though, life's too short to be uptight. If I feel something negative comiing on then a 'step away from the keyboard' moment is in order! :D
