:confused:A Question reallly. Does anyone have an idea why my horse keeps on bucking me but not the other person who rides her.
Shes a beautiful girl :) and will follow me but when i get on she quite often bucks in canter or ocasionly trot. I have only had her a couple of months and still have lessons with an instructer every week.
Is it because she likes me or is she being plain naughty.
It is putting me off her and making me lose my confidence.:o

Don't lose your confidence!! Sounds to me like you need to make her recognize that you're the boss. Do you do much groundwork w/her?

Seating problems maybe??
I dont think many horses dont like anyone in particular and aim to get them off. (not many anyway) Maybe she has a sensitive back and you are sitting a little too hard?
Pics would help diagnose this X

Horses buck for lots of reasons....get back, tack and teeth checked, then look at your leg position too far back can cause a buck, young horses buck going into canter, try lunging first for a few weeks to take the spark out before you get on and see if that helps......sometimes the girth grabs them as they first start moving around.
erm....
Get a safety strap to attached to the d rings, I have one on my saddle for when my youngster bucks and its great!!
Try not to loose your confidence this is making you a better rider!! once youve learnt to sit the bucks you will laugh at them!

Oh my goodness I can totally relate to how your feeling! My coloured loves bucking and gets sooo excited! He bucked me off on Saturday (the day before a show!) which really helped matters! Just keep riding through it and when they do it give him a smack or a good kick to let him know its not acceptable. Maybe he can sense your nervous and thats why he does it. Good luck.

Without knowing what you're doing differently to other riders, we don't know what could be causing it.(Different saddle??) But very often it is because of pain/discomfort, or as pointed out above, fear(if you are worried, this could be enough to make him nervous too). Therefore, I definitely wouldn't just try to 'ride through it' or punish him for it.
For one, to 'ride through' a bucking fit is potentially dangerous, even for a good rider, and you might not be up to it or want to risk it. But if he's hurting or afraid, forcing the issue or punishing him for trying to defend himself the only way he knows how won't help. It often actually makes matters worse.
I'd first rule out pain - get his back, teeth, feet, saddle etc checked. I'd ask your instructor to tell you what they think you're doing wrong balance-wise. Some saddles, while of themselves are comfortable for the horse, force the rider onto their seat bones into a too forward position, which means they're leaning on the horse's shoulders. It's therefore possible you're doing the best you can but the equipment is making you unbalanced.
