Well for those who know a few months ago I had teams show jumping and my horse acted like a bronco as a culmination of several factors, saddle pinching, out in the off hip and near shoulder, lack of warm up space, he had been a bit under the weather leading up to it and over excitement. My confidence about jumping had hit an all time low.

Now, today, I rode him to the pony club, joined in and I jumped!!
I havent jumped him since August 25th and this was such a HUGE step for me. We kept it all pretty low key, popped over a couple of intro height cross country jumps and then I felt more confident and went for the pre training jumps (85cm)
I am so happy and so is Cheeky!! He adores jumping and had missed it,,,, there was no bucking, just a happy and relaxed horse and rider taking the jumps (which we know so well we could do it blindfolded) but it is such a HUGE thing for me!!

I have to do 2 jumps on Thursday for my Sporthorse Performance Class, and I feel so much better, I was thinking of not even going, but now I am!!

The countdown is on!!!
Dressage on Wednesday and sporthorse on Thursday!!
I will let everyone know how i am getting on at the show and report back each day that I am there and will get some pics!
This is our regional show and quite big!!

Thank you Mikka!! I am also going to take another big step and enter for the big Christmas cracker show jumping festival on the 7-8 December!! I am going to do the hunters and a friend of mine is going to show jump him for me, it will be awesome to watch, this guy has show jumped in Japan and evented in the UK, so I am stoked that he wants to have a go on my horse!!

I just went to check on Cheeky just then, and he seems so happy and contented even after a big day like today :D

That's a great compliment to you and Cheeky that such a creditable rider wants to show jump YOUR horse! I'm thrilled for you! Can't wait for the up-dates!!!

WELL DONE, it takes a lot of guts to carry on after loosing confidence, just take it steady for a while because it will be much harder if it happens again. Stay well within what you feel capable until your confidence builds up properly.

Congratulations!!:D :D :D
I know how hard it is to get your confidence back, especially in jumping so well done( you've done it so much better than me!).
Good luck at the competitions, and let us know what happens!
