to canter? I've seen an ad for a horse that was used in a trekking centre and for beach rides that has only ever walked and trotted and says she doesn't canter, she is 12 years old, said she is a very novice ride, which is something I would be after but Would such a horse be able to learn to canter with the correct training? Interested to know as I am very new to horses.
Many thanks.

im sure she'll have cantered in her field a fair few times. Even if she hasnt done it undersaddle for a while I cant see any reason why you couldnt reschool her, uless there are actual reasons she cant /wont canter? It may take a while for her to become balanced enough though, you prob have to start on the lunge... but im no expert, would you have a good RI to help you?

we used to have one at our RS, we let it follow another pony first few times, but she soon learned. although it was quite an uncomfortable canter! :)
