Hi :)

I have been trying out various calmers on my excitable TB gelding. He likes mares a lot and assumes they must like him:rolleyes: I wonder if anyone has found a calmer for excitedness and hormones for geldings as usually the hormone ones have been for mares.

He is out to grass 24/7 at the mo.

Hi I used Naf Magic on our 11.2hh mare but not sure it worked so have stopped trying stuff out now. Have heard people rave about blue chip magnesium, can't remember but check on their website and others get on ok with Naf Magic. Would be interested to hear your other replies as open to recommended options, Magnesium based compounds seem to be the way to go though.

Has anyone used Rigcalm or TB calmer from Global herbs?

Just wanted to wish you luck. The vet forgot to tell my last horse (Suffolk punch X) that he'd been gelded, he was a total Romeo around mares. I ended up having to use a training whip to get him away from them then working him well away from any feminine distractions.

If you haven't tried Oxyshot on your guy it's worth a go, it's like magic nectar on my TB. Seems to help him forget about everything else except work so maybe it'd calm hormones too.

Hi again and thanks

I've looked into Oxyshot but it seems that it gives horses more energy and my TB already has loads. He's only fed chaff to go with supplements although they have plenty of grazing. Has anyone else used Oxyshot with success for calming? The extra energy and calming don't seem to go together somehow.
