I guess I am classed as a 'mature' rider now at somewhere not far off 40! - I have posted a couple of things on here in the past during my search but now I have bought my long awaited horse - a childhood dream finally realised,:D I expect I will be on here a lot more asking everyones advice as I get to grips with full on horse ownership over the coming months and years! I have lots to learn and no doubt so does my 5 year old mare who's done very little to date...so there will probably be a few 'HELP' type posts coming from this direction but I'm looking forward to it and think that this is a great site. Speak soon!:p

Ah, so good they posted twice;)

I was new to NR last week! It's a baptism of fire:D Enjoy:D

I'm 42, waited (well not waited exactly, more like just plain couldn't afford:o) to buy a horse until I was 36. Having said that I've been riding since I was about 7.

Hellooo you too:D I'm fairly new on here as well. 37 years young next week and may be getting my first horse next week as well (if vetting goes ok). Wanted a pony/horse for as long as I can remember and only really in the last couple of years I've given myself a kick up the bum to get it sorted:D

Im 42 and only had my mare for 3 years, its been hard work getting back into riding, after a long break and things have changed alot.

Lots of great advise on here though so Im sure you wont ever feel alone.

Lovely horse, shes a bit like mine. Is she Irish?

Hello and welcome! I'm 38 (is that mature???! cos it doesn't feel it!) I have Joe and Storm and a lovely OH who also is horse mad and whose riding and lunge work is sooooo much better than mine......but thats cos he has long legs and mine are stumpy, but hey, I'm waffling! You'll love this site - its very helpful.

She's IDxTB X BelgianWBxAndalucian - a good old mixture!!! I've ridden since I was a child with a few breaks here and there. I had a horse on loan until I decided to get my own and despite some reservations about my capabilities I'm glad I went for it!:p
