Hi......has anyone out there heard of, or taken any BHS progressive riding tests?....are they similar to abrs tests?

ABRS have progressive riding tests, BHS have a stage system. Both systems cover riding and stable management.
I think If I remember the ABRS go from 1 -10.
BHS stage 4 is about ABRS stage 6 or so.
They are not dissimilar.
The BHS stress that their system is aimed at professional riders who want to make a career out of thie riding. The ABRS is not as stuck in a time warp and are far more relaxed about dress codes.

Sorry Wally, don't mean to contradict, but BHS do have PRTs, they are aimed at the hobby rider unlike the stages, our riding club are working through them at the moment. The details are in work but from memory there are 6, 1 & 2 are probably about pony club D & D+, then they go up quite steeply, and I think I'm right in saying that you can use them towards the stages if you wish. Look at the bhs.org.uk site, there will be details there.

You're not contradicting, I didn't know the BHS did anything aimed at the hobby rider, See you learn something every day!
I'm not a member of the BHS anymore, havn't been for about 15 years, so I'm not 100% up to date with their systems, they have changed so much since I was a member.
