Energy boost?

On behalf of a friend - She wants somthing she can put in her mares food to up her energy levels. She gets quite lazy in summer but in winter shes fine. She tried oats last year and they didn't go down well with the mare....


any suggestions?

Depends how much energy you want. Sugar Beet or Barley offer a little energy (slow release).

Spillers Instant Energy? A cob I used to ride got a handful of that in with his usual feed when he needed a boost - he used to get a big sluggish in the summer. They had to watch the quantity though - too much and there was more energy then was useful! He only had it when he needed it, just has high fibre cubes the rest of the time (out 24/7).
