Great pictures, looks really fun! Might sound daft, but are the majority of Crillos ridden western and is there any particular reason for this?

Hi KT - even more annoyed I had to miss that now, looks like great fun
Great pictures, looks really fun! Might sound daft, but are the majority of Crillos ridden western and is there any particular reason for this?
The criollos on this ride are originally from South America and imported over here. They are therefore broken to ride Western, some people continue with it, some change to English or, like me, do a bit of both. Hope that answes your question

KT those pics are great, havent even had the chance to check ours out yet. Got back to the yard at 01:30 this morning, sorted out the boys stables and came home. Back to the yard at 08:00 this morning and cleaned out the trailer. mucked out etc, returned it and just settled for breakfast now !!! Busy busy busy. Going for a ride in a bit going up to the polo pitch to watch a bit (they have a tournament on today). Nothing too stressful today
Hopefully meet up again soon

Hi Fee
We had a lovely time - and you were really missed (and so was Maximo)
In fact Hanna with the Chestnut from Devon(who is on here somewhere!!!???) said she could have helped you out with transport....
All the horses were well behaved as ever.... saying that somehow Jan got bucked off in an exciting canter up a brilliant hill - i only saw Jan in mid air doing what looked like a high star jump - but she brushed her self off and got back on - her horse is very young, shes had him a while and this was a first - so Jan if your reading this "I hope your not too bruised today - and we all think your a great sport for getting on with it"
We had a picnic in some undergrowth while the horses were tied to branches (or hobbled if your Byrons horse)
We did loads of chatting and drinking coffee...
we did loads more chatting and admiring each others Criollos
We did some Cantering
oh yeah ... and I think we did a bit of Cow herding somewhere - well Andrew was and we were just getting in his way really ha ha... Hi Andrew I know you will be reading all this - Have you made up with Byron yet - he didnt like getting shouted at, all together now "ahrrrr".... Hi Byron too - I know you also will read this ha ha.....
It was a really laid back - "The Usual Criollo Day"
Many Thanks to Rachel and Andrew the owners of the magnificent cow farm. Who also happen to own 4 Criollos and a mini one too!! You did a great job of organising such a wonderful event - I hope you are both feeling better - well done for carrying on even though you have both been so poorly.
Im sure we are all looking forward to the next event - which im sure is in August - A camp out for a weekend adventure - I know I am!

wow that sounds perfect. The land there looks amazing - I can't imagine what it is like to own all the land.
Is Jan the lady that owned the rig that was then gelded??? I get confused with all the names and horses.
Max is still being a problem to load but I think I will leave the practising until I go to the next one which I am well up for. Maybe someone can get Lee on a horse this time as I can't!!
Why did Byron get told off then??? lol

Hi Everyone, looks like you had a fantastic time !:) ...Mark & I are GUTTED!!!!!!!
Though we had a brilliant weekend Sailing in the Around the Island race, & even though we came 10th in our class & 271 overall out of nearly 1800 Yachts, it was an amazing sight...but I know where I'd would rather have been....If you organise the next Criollo Club ride for either the 1st 2 weeks of August, when we are on out hols, I, if not Mark as well, will CRY  :p

Yes, please tell us where your Grand Day Out was - the pics are a bit tantalising for us Wiltshire folk! Are you up on the Wansdyke? The landscape looks very similar to that we encountered up above Heddington/Stockley on the Spye Park & Bowood Charity Ride. Put us out of our misery, purllease! :)

It was somewhere around Calne on private farmland as far as I know - don't know Wiltshire at all so not sure how much this will help:D

Thats whats I thought - Heddington was where I used to ride and some it looks like where we used to hack.
