Go here - http://www.saddlesdirect.co.uk/ - they will value & buy your saddle or sell it on commission on their site.

I sold my saddle on Ebay easily. Perhaps you are asking too much for it?

The other ebay tip is to have your auction end on a weekend - more people look at it as it is about to close. First auction ended on a Wednesday - nothing - relisted it stright away to end on a Saturday morning and posted it to Swansea this morning! If you can time it to finish late morning or early evening on the weekend is even better as those are peak viewing times.
Try and make it stand out and really point out all the good points and features even is they are standard to every saddle! People seem to like having the obvious stated - it makes them feel safe and makes your ad stand out - there is nothing memorable or nothing to get excited about a one line small print sentence that says absolute basics and nothing else.
Good luck.

I had one saddle for sale off and on, on Ebay and other free classifieds for a year. Things are just not selling fast, even if it is good quality and price.
I also will not just give away my saddles.. I ask a fair price.
The other I have had up for sale...off and on for 6 months and it finally sold.
Also have a Herm Sprenger Driving bit for sale..only used a couple of times on my Fjord and in excellent condition. Asking $90.00 less that what I paid no including shipping...and I am offering free shipping in the USA. No takers yet. Sigh~~
So I feel for you..there is no easy and fast way to sell anything right now. Just keep trying and sooner or later you will find a good buyer.

Re. Ebay, definitely go for a weekend finish - Saturday morning and Sunday evening seem to be the best times. Keep the title short and use key words, eg. Black *make* cob saddle so it always pops up in people's searches. Make sure you mention make, size and condition, I'd also add age and reason for sale. Get really clear photos, be honest about any marks etc, then set a fair starting price (have a look at some of the recently ended auctions to get a feel for what they're fetching at the moment) and keep your fingers crossed.
You could also advertise on the classifieds here, and in your signature.
Good luck!

I have no idea about the price but make sure you include details like the actual measurement D ring to D ring rather than just saying its MW. Specify how old it is and what type of saddle it is (GP, dressage, event etc). Make it really really obvious. dont just assume that people will know.
My ads usually end up being novel length:D

I think its over priced for ebay I know a lady only got £106 for her well known make dressage saddle worth £300
Might be better to try sell in paper etc

You are right, people on ebay want bargains and simply will not pay the going price, for instance I have 4 pony saddles on there at the moment, (new "old" stock) I need to shift, the Hi Lite saddles I have listed are now going for £149.90 each on the Shires site, yet, I will be lucky to get £20 quid each for them, way down on the trade price I paid for them but I just need the space so will have to swallow the loss. Which papers have you tried?
The local ones are usually good or horse and hound but that costs alot more to advertise and don't forget, the "credit crunch" is hitting alot of people hard in the pockets at the moment, what ever you decide, good luck with your sale, Oz
