Well, after much deliberating, and being slightly economical with the truth to my other half, I have myself a lovely coloured cob on loan.
He is about 15.2, medium weight and very good natured considering he is a stallion ()
He belongs to my RI who is quite keen for someone to bring him on as at 6 years old he hasn't had a huge amount of work and is wasted really.
Hopefully this will help me too as she can school me as I am schooling him IYSWIM.
I have to admit, the stallion thing is a wee cause for concern, but only really on hacks when we see other horses, and avoiding action can usually be taken. He is far better behaved than the old Arab stallion I used to ride as a teenager.
It's early days yet, but I'm hoping we will get on well.
His name is Jaffa (snigger)

He does look nice :)

I used to ride my friend's arab stallion but only in the school because he was very stallion like!

Thanks
He is pretty good considering his *ahem* natural tendencies. Just got back from a 1/2 hr private lesson and a short hack on him and I'm buzzing. There have been times in the last few weeks where I've had my doubts that I've done the right thing, not because of what he is, but because of whether I can put the time in to do us both justice, but today I remembered how much fun I had when I had my own all those years ago and I'm determined to give it my best shot.
He is a lovely boy really, you just need to keep him in check when there's other horses about. For his size/strength he is much more manageable than the Arab I rode. That one spent most of his time on his back legs bless him!
I think I am falling a little bit in love with my seedless orange.

He looks lovely, I totally understandthe "being economical with the truth" thing with regards your OH, if they are non horsey they really don't understand! Goodluck with him, he sounds great!

Hmmm, my RI has some western tack......

Will try to get some better pics soon as those don't really do him justice. He's Camera shy too, he just looks away when you point a camera at him, dopey b**ger.
