saddle too far back?

i have just got a new saddle which fits great. but as enka has quite a short back im usure if i have the saddle too far back or is it just because she has a short back.

please help me!

I dont think it looks too far back. Was it fitted by a saddler?

i cant tell from the photo but it could be that its too long for her. if you find her last rib and follow it up to where it meets her spine - dont go straight up, you have to go in slightly as, like our ribs, they go in closer when you follow them to the spine. if the back of the saddle passes this rib then it is too long/too far back.

the picture is the wrong angle but by the looks of it it seems to be spot on:)

I will try that tomorrow. i have tried it before but i was confused as to where i measure from, is it the last rib up to the cantle?
