Wow smaggi, you look way more like Pat Parelli than I would have imagined.

I use a whole lot of that cutting and reining training in my dressage ponies. There is NOTHING to match the engagement and self-carriage of an cutting horse, ears forward, focussed on his cow, rocked way back on his haunches, hocks under, front legs barely skimming the ground in a full 180 turn. Love it !

QHs are the best aren't they ? I can point to two halves of my best horses, and it's the QH in them that gives them their fantastic trainable character.

half ! My favouritest two are both half QHs - giving them that athleticism, and trainable temperament. JoeP, also ends up very very pretty, since he has the arabian influence too. And Summer goes mostly towards 'power' and BUTT, having TWH (variable - but in her case, daddy was one of the 'wide' rather than nearrow and tall TWHs) as her other half.

I'm already starting to rope with a breakaway on head shots and a regular honda on heel shots. I am totally hooked now after my weekend clinic with Joe Wolter.
