just wondering ive had my mare out with over the last few days with a stallion. i problem is that while the have been grooming he has been quite rough and she has sores now on her mane tail and her hind quaters and lots of small lumps again on her quaters . the sores are quite hard and crusty looking almost like sweet itch sores but she is not itchy like that, like i say ive seen them grooming.
how is the best way to deal with them as i have been put cream on them and put a fly rug on her so that sores are protected.

umm are you sure they are grooming bites or are they his love bites? I have seen some stally bites be quite nasty when they get a little excited?

yeah ive seen him grooming her and ive also seen him covering her and he dosent bite her while covering.

I have never known a normal groom to include bites :confused:

i think its because he is quite rough and quite relentless with his grooming
