i really need a new saddle but cant really afford one at the minute so using my YOs so i think for my birthday (september) i would like a saddle! so i have been looking at treeless's but would only have around 300 max to spend

i have seen the copperbeech cob http://www.copperbeechtreelesssaddles.com/saddles/product_info.php?cPath=77&products_id=94 and the hackabout http://www.equinewhispers.co.uk/hackabout.html as these are in my price range! good and bad info?

i am looking for one that would be suitable for a wide hard to fit cob! who changes shape so i thought treeless would be better than keep changing saddles!

thanks

i have the hackabout and i love it. before that i used to feel perched on the saddle not in it. the hackabout fits my welsh cobs table top back lovely and is so comfy to ride in

Sue from copperbeech saddles comes on here. She does trials of her saddles. I believe her forum name is I love fells....something like that.
I bought my first treeless from her a few years ago now :) before she started selling her own brand.

I think most of the treeless saddle will have weight limits and this info can be found on the maker's website, so it's worth doing a bit of homework before deciding. I'm not sure what the weight limit is. Also, some say that they're not the best choice if the rider needs to depend on the saddle for balance!

I have a Sensation G3 and a Freeform - both super saddles. I know the Sensation are used on Shire horses, so definitely fit the larger horse as well.

I sold my Barefoot saddle as I just didn't find it comfortable, but I think that was due to the fact that it was the wrong size for me, and just too big. So it's important that the saddle you get fits both you and your horse.

I've just bought a freeform and I absolutely love it. They do come up on ebay now and then so would be worth watching for.

I have a very wide, hard to fit, cob:D
