poll evil?

anyone have a horse with this? it is like a capped hock but just behind the poll - a bursitis, the vet said it was a pocket of fluid caused by some trauma (knowning my mare probably panicking and pulling back on a headcoller) i just wondered if anyone has had any experience with this and if effects them in any way, i was told that it wouldnt but i just want to see other opinions really.
