For a start, if you are struggling with trot then I would suggest stopping trotting on roads until you have mastered it and become more secure, as this could be a potentially dangerous situation.
Do you have lessons on your horse, or access to a riding arena, paddock? I think that in the first instance, the thing to do would be to have a few lessons on your horse, with a good instructor, who can assess his way of going and help you to re-secure your seat and ride in balance.

Yes i have stopped trotting all together and just take him on walks, but because he is an ex-trotter he just wants to go all the time, but since i have had him he has learnt that he only goes when i say :) and it is so hard when i go out with friends because if we have a little trot he just gets stupid and thinks he is in a race and flies right to the front of them:eek:
i had about 3 lessons when i first got him but that was just getting my balance,im thinking about going to the simulator, but dont know if it is any good?
I am very grateful for your help and any other help you have about anything to do with showing in-hand would be highly appreciated :D:D

I'd get some more lessons, you said you lose your balance so these lessons must be beneficial in improving it if they focus on balance. An instructor really is your best bet here. :)

I Shall Get Lessons Then Sounds Like The Best For Me :)
Has Anybody Had A Go On The Simulator ?

to be honest I wouldn't bother - if your horse is an ex-trotter it is probably just his particular way of going that is making you unbalanced, so going on a horse simulator isn't really going to solve the problem.
have a few more lessons and take it from there.
Hope it all goes well!

Pale Moon that is a very valid point and did not cross my mind! However to throw another spanner in the works, the simulator may help with OP balance!:)

Lessons - with your own horse - and an instructor experienced and sympathetic to trotters.

I so hope this is a troll!
If it isn't then please book yourself a course of lessons with a good instructor & if possible get someone experienced to do some schooling work on your horse.
