I too want to work wiht horses and am lucky enough to work at one that does NVQ's in horse care so thats what im gonna do starting next year finger crossed. Maybe you could do something like that or a BHS to get you started or look uo some websites of trainers. You don't say though whether you want to train racehorses or disciplines though so I dont really have the no how to answer you.
Hope my waffling's have helped.:D

I also want to be a horse trainer, so I did an FD in horse care at college, and then I completed my NVQ level 2 while being a working pupil at a dressage yard. I get to ride most of the horses that come for training aswell as the schoolmasters.:)

What sort of training do you want to do, racehorse, dressage, driving, showjumper?
The best thing is to get a job mucking out at a yard who has an excellent reputation, keep your eyes and ears open and ask, ask, ask, Ever thought of working with stunt and film horses?
If you can gain experience of every day work in the field of your choice than you will be better placed to know which qualifications, if any, are needed.

Wow...imagine getting a job as a stunt rider/trainer!
I saw the Horsemen of the Apocalypse perfrom yesterday...it was fantastic.
How would you get into that kind of thing though?!

If you want to get into this sort of thing you start writing letter to Gerrad Naprous and folk like him pestering him for a job, you'll probably spen a couple of years mucking out and doing the donkey work before you even get near the top horses, but by heck you'll learn a lot.
Gerrad Naprous is a nutter, I made the mistake of staying in the collecting ring at the Andalucian breed show when he came in, I wondered why everyone else had disapeared, in a cloud of dust. How he stays on is a mystery to me! Mind you I have never seen the stallion I was riding so quiet and trying to make himself look small, the horse Gerrad was riding made Julio lookmlike a pussycat

hi
i also want to work with horses but i know what i want to do
** problem tho, i know someone who wanted to be a racehorse trainer ( i work at a racing stables saturaday mornings) and she got herself a job the same as mine. She wrote to lots of top trainers explaining what she wanted to do and a few phoned her with job vacancies, however she didnt want to ride out so had to turn the jobs down, however the trainers did say that they would keep her mind for the future.
shes changed her mind now tho.
You should contact the racing schools at newmarket and doncaster also, they sent me some info about training but i dont think i've got it anymore.
