Hello everyone, I have to share my hair raising experience today!
After 1 year of two lessons a week at a riding school I offered to hack out a ladies horse at the same yard as I keep my yearling on.
Oh my god, it is so different, everything i learn't riding school styley went totally out the window, as all the riding close by is forestry made up of very narrow, steep boggy trails with low swinging branches (so I had to knock the "sit up tall and straight" business from the start! The lady who owns the horse has only had her a week and assured me that she was very safe and didn't chase other horse when tailing the ride.
Put it this way I am always up for a canter, but this thing needed new brake pads, she did chase and times I didn't feel safe (AND SHE SPOOKED AT A GOAT AND FREAKED AT THE LAKE).
I am going to carry on riding her cause it was fun and the first time in the forest, I shall keep you all posted. Anyone else had any incidents to giggle about?
