I was at a funeral yesterday and Someone looked after my horse for me. Aparantly she has rubbed all the fur off the side of her face. It sounds like it is where she had a couple of bites the night before last. I can't believe she has rubbed them so badly must have been really bothering her :( Does anyone know what I can put on it? I can get to Boots but not really to a horsey place after work. The bites were about centimetre in diameter and raised and there was 3/4

You probably want to see it before you buy anything to put on it - but given where you can go I'd try Sudocreme?

Yes, I'd suggest sudocrem. It might not be so bad as you think once you get there and see it. Storm rubbed near her eye a while back (bloomin midges) but it looked worse than it actually was. I don't think it was particularly sore for her, she didn't mind me touching it.

Thanks, I will go and get some Sudacreme from Boots :)
I'll also look for hydrocortizone cream too.
Anyone have any idea what could have bitten her?

Well, looks like another vets visit today. Just waiting for the call. I phoned them last night to check if I could give her Piriton, she had a jab last week that she had a severe reaction too. Looks like this rash and rubbing might be connected as she is still swollen in her leg when she shouldn't be. Vet said he wanted to come and see her so I'm waiting for the call. Poor Rhia, she really deserves a break from all this! She has rubbed her face raw, her legs sore, worse than it was before the vet first came out  how were we to know a majic jab would cause her soi many problems?
