Haffies weight

I have just weighed Yogi using a tape and am worried.
He is a stocky old type Haflinger who is 15'. But the weight tape says he is 519kgs :eek::eek::eek::eek:
Is this too much? It seems enormous to me but he does not look overweight and is currently just out in the field - and on a no treat/apples/carrots/etc diet.
I know that Haffies are a bit different to other horses - oh in so many ways!!! - but is this ok?
I will try and post a pic and you will be able to see how deep chested, thick boned my boy is....:D:D

My boy, in summer, not hunting fit I estimated to be about 500kgs.

My mare is 14.3 and around 490kgs. She's possibly very slightly 'blooming' but not over weight at all and she's very fit so I don't get worried.

Thanks Wally - he looks great and very similar to Yogi. They are both the chunky variety if you know what I mean. He has a very similar head etc and could almost be Yogi's brother - or a relative any ways:D

His weight sounds about right. He's stocky so that has to be taken into consideration. I wouldn't worry too much, just don't let him head towards 600kg! :D

What is Yogi's breeding, my Haflinger was a prolific sire of a lot of UK bred Haflingers back in the 70's and 80's.

his 'proper' name is Arjan van t'Leivers. He comes from Holland and his sire is Angelo and his grand sire is Aga Khan. His dam is Marleen van t'Lievers and on his dams side is Waro van de haflinger Hoeve and Napoleon.
If that means anything to you.
He is a fine looking boy and he knows it - if there were prizes for posing he would get gold!:D
