I am just getting into horses for some reason unknown to me. I am truly interested but one thing, I'm allergic to them. It really sucks :( My aunt has a horse and she lives about 7 hours from me. I've never really been around horses and I have never ridden one. What could I expect from the horse if I were to go visit my aunts? My aunt says the horse is nice to her, but she's had it all it's life!

Chin up! Im allergic to them too!
I've been riding for over 10 years and to start with it was awful i got all blotchy and runing nose and eyes...ew!
Take an antihytamine (sp?) they work wonders,
other than that, good luck with the riding.

I have a friend who is allergic to horses along with just about everything else - poor girl has a very limited diet. Anyhow she has been working with horses for the past 5 years at least and has just bought her own horse. Believe me her allergy to horses is the last thing on her mind. She had to go overseas for 5 weeks when she first got him (I babysat :) ) and she nearly cried when she had to leave him.

my sister is allergic and whenever she comes up to the stables she takes a pill and she's OK. You can pick them up really easy from the doctors and chemists. I've gto asthma and I'm allergic to quite a few thing but luckily not horses!
I rekon your aunties horse will be fine with you. If it nice to your aunt then it probably has a nice temprement anyway.
