yikes! I asked my friend if I lean back too much when riding, and she said no, but that I do water ski sometimes. eee! How can I fix this? I don't want to lean forward all the time, as that'll just make it worse by probably teaching me to stay forward too much.

I tend to water ski in sitting trot due to old habits. But if I concentrate on bringing my legs back under me, it seems to put everything back into correct position. And that's when the real work starts.....

ugh, are you sure that's the only way? cuz if it is, I'm in biggggg trouble.

Oops, then yes, you're in big trouble!
I just force my legs back under me until I feel that my heels are on the same vertical line as my hips - if you're just starting, it may feel like you're contorting strangely and throwing your legs back way too far - but, in time, you'll see that it does balance you. But you must stop leaning back. Try to remember that your
heels should be just about the at the back part of your hip crease.
It feels really strange at first, and was the toughest lesson I learned.

No offense, FreedomStar, from my last post - sometimes I say things that aren't offensive, but in writing, they come across as unkind!

not to worry, I am not offended. Thanks for the advice though. I'll give it lots of thought and try to come up with other ideas also. I really wanna fix this problem of mine, cuz it makes me look like a bad rider sometimes. I can just feel myself tipping back.
