My ageing gelding has been very itchy in this area all winter and when I looked there is a lot of scurf. Have shampooed and rinsed but doesn't seem to have helped. Last week I put udder cream on and the scabs started to drop off. He now has a bald patch! Anyone had a problem like this and can advise me? The scabs are in his bridle patch too

my mare has sweat itch and is particularly bad round her forelock and the sides of her face. I use camrosa, but aqueous cream is quite good too, or if really sore sudocreme would be good if you haven't got camrosa. A fly mask may help whilst the flies are bad.

umm i have sort of......my little shetland had really bad scabby bits everywhere when i got her.....she was itching ALL the time.....we got rid of them eventually using what i've said below!....... recently she been quite scurfy and itchy again.....i got the vet and he advised that i give her a bath in hibiscrub.....i diluted it in water first....he said to leave it on her for 10 mins and rinse MOST of it out so it gets a chance to work......i had my doubts whether this would make the problem worse LEAVING SOME HIBISCRUB ON HER! but it didn't.....she is definitely not as itchy any more......so i suggest you try this.....and if you do....after you have washed it and left it to dry......keep putting udder cream or some kind of anti-bacterial cream on it........it did the trick for mine!! :)
hope this helps! :)
and also once it has healed.....Cornucrescine Original Hoof Ointment can be put on bald patches to encourage hair re-growth! strange but true!
