Around here they do pretty well.
Heres a picture of my cousin and her horse jumping. (Their both learning how to jump about 2 months ago)

ETA: Cricket is registered with the AQHA, 14.2, 7 years old. He's been reining most of his life. He just started going english this year.

I have no experience of QH's but I presume it depends on whether they like jumping and how they are trained; every horse has potential.

We started Coquette (registered AQHA mare; mostly halter and cow work pedigree) over fences last year as a five year old. She took to it like a duck to water, but she can't jump from a trot to save her life. She does jump quite nicely from a canter though.

After taking the winter off from jumping, we've just brought her back into it and are currently schooling around 2ft with the potential to go higher. She's got a nice form at that height, she just needs to build her confidence now.

Find a jump coach and try it out. :) You'll never know if you don't try!

By QH I hope you mean Quarter Horse?:o

My auntie owns a one which my cousin jumps and I used to aswell. She is a wonderful jumper!:)
She really uses her backend and isnt at all afraid of new fillers or anything.

Go for it, have a go.:D

My first full sized horse was a QH and we did fine jumping in 3'6" hunter classes where I grew up in Florida. They certainly have the hindquarters for jumping! Find yourself a good instructor and have fun!

My friend had an american quarter horse, he won sj competitions at 3ft-3ft3 and she was planning to affiliate him BSJA but unfortunately he had to be retired due to navicular :(
