Hi,

I am really keen to get back to riding after a break of - way too long - about 10 years!! I would like to get some private lessons for the first month, to allow me to concentrate on getting my rusty skills back - however, I am finding it hard to find a school in or around London that has an indoor arena, or a proper all-weather arena - which seems pretty essential at this time of year ! Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks in advance:)

You could try Trent Park Equestrian Centre, which has quite a large indoor arena. Trent Park is in Oakwood, it is easy to get to by tube and bus.

I'm sure there are lots of others, you could maybe do a search on Google. Have you looked on the Riding Schools section on the New Rider website?

Hope you find somewhere.

Hi, I ride at Trent Park and it is very good, They have two indoor arenas and 2 outdoor arenas.
Oakwood is on the piccadilly line and the stables are only a five minute walk from there.
They do hacks too with no road work, straight out into trent park woods.
Can definately recommend it.

I've also ridden at Trent Park, but it was a long time ago. How about Lea Valley Riding centre in north east London? Its right next to the River Lea on the Lea Bridge Road, between Clapton and Leyton.

There are two I know of
http://www.kingstonridingcentre.co.uk/ is closer to London
and http://ds.dial.pipex.com/ocrs/ is further outside of London but it has a really nice outdoor school
